Treetent no. 20
iCOON has been donated a treetent, and preparations are in full swing to realize it at iCOON. You can come and see it starting August 31st. This will be treetent number 20!
Dré Wapenaar is the creator of the treetent.
Since his first canvas sculptures, he has built a whole arsenal of tent designs. From piano pavilions to covered bicycle bridges, from bird shelters to veritable tent villages, together they form a kind of model society. And they exist – just like people – alone or in groups, form pairs, are mobile, move, stand proudly occupying their space, or seem to disappear into their surroundings.
They are shelters that allow you to retreat into your own domain while still offering you all the space you need to live in community. Here Wapenaar plays with interpersonal relationships and the tension between the public and private domains.

A treetent by Dré Wapenaar. During the festival week around May 5th, a treetent was temporarily installed at iCOON.
