Dune Valley & Museum iCOON
iCOON Hoek van Holland is situated in a beautiful spot in the Voorduin, nestled between the Nieuwe Waterweg and the North Sea. A small-scale, high-quality country estate, it's a pleasant place to be, even if you're not into art. Inside, in the former ammunition bunker, is a museum for minimalist art and design. Outside, a dune landscape with a lovely terrace for bon vivants, maritime enthusiasts, nature lovers, and heritage enthusiasts.
With respect for the area's history, artist Joram Raaijmakers designed a lookout tower on the dune mound, based on Cold War watchtowers: the UITzWAAI. It offers stunning views of the Nieuwe Waterweg, the dunes, and the sea. Installation took place in April 2025. Artist Krijn de Koning designed an above-ground tunnel system, based on the thickness of the walls of the adjacent bunker, the Dune Room (de DUINKAMER). You'll feel as if you're walking through the walls. The Dune Room can be experienced from April 2026.
