THIS WEEKEND: RUBEN VAN DER SCHEER AND IVO SCHOUTEN

Every weekend, Massimo Pavan and curator Helma Vlemmings invite designers, architects and artists whose work fits the common thread of the exhibition ROOM FOR YOU!. They introduce themselves, reflect on Massimo's objects or add their personal work to the exhibition.
This weekend, artists Ruben van de Scheer and Ivo Schouten are the special guests of ceramist Massimo Pavan and curator Helma Vlemmings.

Ruben van der Scheer is fascinated by the power and infinity of the circle. Made with a lathe, his minimalist objects invite the viewer to touch and caress. At the same time, his designs evoke contemplation. In this way, Rubens' forms dissolve the prejudices of craft and art.

Ivo Schouten's objects move between 2D and 3D, are characterized by clear compositions and often have a modular character. Partly due to his interest in architecture and structures, spatial works or references to spatiality often arise. They are based on a clear idea of ​​form and color and thus frame Ivo's vision, without it becoming dogmatic. The rigid forms are contrasted by a meticulous manual production process that shows itself in its subtlety. The different layers in the work - straight lines, angular, open and flexible - give the viewer freedom and form an incentive to broaden their view.
